You know it's been a crazy weekend when you almost look forward to Monday. This has been one of those weekends; not bad, just hectic. Saturday, we went to a reception at the Governor's mansion (which was pretty cool and Eli was very good), then drove back to go to a local political event, and then left Eli with his Nana to go to a Wizards game (we got really nice tickets for Christmas). Then Sunday, we had a family brunch before Eli's Grandma and Grandpa Ed move out of town (and we say goodbye to 1/3 of our Eli-sitting team). We tried to put him down for a good nap at home, but everytime the phone rang he would wake up and scream for a while, and fall back asleep until the next call (I finally turned off as many ringers as I could). He's usually a sound sleeper, but not when he's having trouble falling asleep. So after a bad nap, we went to another political event (tis the season), and Eli decided he'd had enough of this political stuff and smiling for strangers, and made his feelings well known during the candidate's speech in a building with great echoes. Yeah, good times...then we went to my folks' house for dinner and he was happy as a clam. This is going to be a long week, and it's only going to get more insane next weekend when we go to the big Inaugural weekend. At least I don't have to prep bottles and pump parts tonight.
