Well, for Eli at least. Eli's daycare (and every school system in the area) closed today because of our ice/snow storm. we got a few inches of snow and "wintry mix" and then woke up to hear what sounded like our house being pelted with ice cubes. The roads were a mess and my office only opened 2 hours late, so Eli spent the day with Nana & Grandpa. We did make waffles for breakfast, although trying to get out of the house was a minor fiasco. He had fun helping Grandpa shovel the driveway and building a very large snowman (which apparently had olives for eyes). Then he helped Daddy shovel when he got home. Right now the temperature is dropping, the slush is re-freezing, and the wind is howling. I think the windchill is minus 48 degrees Kelvin. We walked to a restaurant nearby for Valentine's dinner and just about froze on the short walk home; fortunately we mostly just slid home on the ice, boosted by the wind.
We'll see what tomorrow morning brings - several school systems have already cancelled. I'm already dreading the cold icy walk to the bus stop.
