Over the long weekend we made a surprise trip to Grandma & Grandpa E's in Tidewater. Eli's Great Grandmother had come to town from Florida for a visit, and we surprised her with an early birthday celebration. Eli's Great Aunt & Uncle from Florida came as well.
We had a good trip, although we had to literally drive through Hurricane Ernesto (or what was left of it) to get there, including a few detours where the road was completely flooded or blocked by trees, and a long stretch without power in the towns. After we arrived, the storm cleared and the weather was great all weekend.
Eli watched his Great Uncle run a half-Marathon (unfortunately Dad is still on injured reserve and couldn't run with him). We all went out for a nice dinner at a restaurant right on the water (with an open area for Eli to run around and throw pinecones).
It was good to have a long weekend, but unfortunately I'm crashing on some deadlines at work and getting ready to go on a big trip, so it's been a little hectic.
In Eli developments, daycare informed us last week that we can stop bringing in his sippy cup, since he now drinks out of a regular cup. This apparently didn't work out so well today though, since they had to change his clothes after he spilled juice (and had to wear the outgrown emergency outfit we left in his cubby a long time ago).
Anyway, here is a picture of Eli eating corn over the weekend.
